EN 10305 comparisons
Standards can overlap in product form while differing in scope, grade systems, conditions, tolerances, testing, and documentation.

The short answer
EN 10305 is often compared with legacy DIN 2391 and ASTM A513 mechanical tubing. These are useful cross-references, not automatic substitutions. Structural hollow-section specifications solve a different design problem and should not replace precision-tube standards by dimensional resemblance alone.
A defensible comparison
Compare scope, route, grade/property basis, delivery condition, dimensions, surface, tests, inspection documents, and contract edition. Record gaps and obtain engineering approval before substitution.
- EN 10305 vs DIN 2391 — current European family vs legacy national callouts
- EN 10305 vs ASTM A513 — European part/condition system vs ASTM type/grade framework
- Precision tube vs structural HSS — fit and fabrication product vs structural design product
